Kidchaser, the beginning

I decided to blog after reading my sister's blog. She is traveling around in a motorhome and enjoying her retirement with her husband.

So I decided to blog on the beginning of my life with my two new children and a life long dream of being an adoptive mother. My husband and I have been in foster care for over 15 yrs. and we finally adopted two of our children in Oct. 2010.

It is the second time around for us as our children have been raised for years and we are grandparents to 7 children. When we first began foster care, we had hopes of adopting, but after years of children leaving our home, I think our hopes left with them.

We thought we had become too old and it would never happen. Then two children came into our home, siblings, a boy and girl. I had to be talked into taking them because of the little boys record, he was four at the time, and had been in a placement for 8 months that was not working. The case worker had been trying to find a home for two weeks for them. I was asked if we would just keep them for a few days and give it a try, so I did. Now the rest is history. Two years later they are ours and I wouldn't trade them for anything.

I love knowing that they are here to stay. I have a peace that I can't explain. I am homeschooling the oldest and falling in love with homeschooling all over again. I love being Mom again!

At the present time we have 9 children in our home that range in age from 10 months - 11 years. We are still foster parents.

So this will be our jouney. Since we have 5 children at the present under 4, I thought the title Kidchaser was appropriate.
